Suspected fraudulent website: www.yongqingbank.com

　

The Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) would like to alert members of the public in Macao to a suspected fraudulent website with the domain name www.yongqingbank.com.  The website is operated by an alleged “Banco Yong Qing”, which claims to have branches in Macao and provides various banking services.

　

The public should be aware that the alleged “Banco Yong Qing” is not authorized under the Financial System Act to carry on banking business, nor does it have the approval to establish an office in Macao.

　

AMCM has referred the case to the Judiciary Police for further investigation. Anyone who has provided his or her personal information to the website or has conducted any financial transactions through the website should contact Judiciary Police immediately.

　

Given the global nature of the Internet, members of the public are reminded to verify the status of any organization making use of the Internet to solicit deposits from the public. A list of authorized credit institutions and financial intermediaries is available on AMCM’s website (www.amcm.gov.mo).
